India Won Gold In Men’s Basketball at Lusofonia Games

India on 27 January won the basketball gold in the men’s section at the Lusofonia Games by defeating Angola at the Shyam Prasad Mukherjee Indoor Stadium in Taleigao  in Goa. In the women’s category gold was bagged by Mozambique by defeating Angola and India won the bronze title. Mozambique men won the bronze defeating Cape Verde .

Egypt’s Army Chief Fattah al-Sisi Promoted To Field Marshal

Egypt’s army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who led the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, has been promoted to the rank of Field Marshal (the highest in the military) on 27 January. His promotion came amid speculation that the military strongman way readying for the Presidential bid.
